Eras and  Wines - Egregy

The exhibition takes place at the eastern part of the former carpenter workshop at the end of Attila Street next to the conserved Roman villa the entrance of the 282 m2 hall opens from the salon of the atrium on the west side close to the south-west corner. The exhibition called “Millennia of Hévíz” shows the archaeological relics of almost eight thousand years from the Neolithic to the end of the Turkish era. The main share of the object are part of the collection of the Hungarian National Museum and the Museum of Balaton and were found in Hévíz or its close surroundings. We provide plenty of materials from the relics collected by Vilmos Lipp in the years of 1880 in Hévízdomb founding a 1200 graves from the Avar era and also the most beautiful set of relics collected from the rich crematory graves of the early Principate era in 2009 from the part of route 76 bypassing Hévíz. Our visitors get a full overview on the history of Hévíz and its surroundings. The exhibited objects represent every archaeological periods though not with the same weight. We have a smaller set from early migration era – Huns, Germans – and from the middle age yet the four centuries of the Roman era is represented by distinctive relics from several archaeological sites.
